Yakama Mission Trip
What: Mission trip to minister to the Yakama Nation
Trip Dates: June 17-25, 2017
Where: Washington state
Cost: $1250
* applications due by November 30
* notification of acceptance by December 14

What: Mission trip to minister to the Yakama Nation in Washington State. We will be working with Sacred Road Ministries and Briarwood supported ministry, Chris Granberry.

When: June 17-25, 2017

Why: To have the opportunity to deepen your personal relationship with Christ by serving Him in another city and in an impoverished culture

Cost: $1250

includes airfare (to/from Portland, OR), lodging, and most meals (spending and meal money needed for travel days and a sight-seeing day in Seattle)

Our Task: Our task will be to serve Sacred Road Ministries, helping them take the Gospel into the Yakama Nation, by ministering to the Yakama people through construction projects and a Vacation Bible School. Our team will lead daily worship and share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Requirements:

  • Available for the dates of the project and orientation dates prior to the project - Orientation dates will fall on selected Sundays in March, April, May, and June
  • Desire to be exposed to ministry in another culture
  • Openness to mission service
  • A servant's heart

How to Apply:

  1. Obtain an application, release form, and reference form from the Briarwood Student Ministry Office or download them below.
  2. We will be accepting completed applications through Wednesday, November 30th. No applications will be accepted early.
    Bring your application to the youth office or mail to:
    Briarwood Youth Group

    Birmingham, AL 35243
  3. Have an adult (not a parent or relative) fill out a reference form and mail it directly to BYG at the address above.
  4. Applicants who are accepted will be notified by Wednesday, December 14th.
    Upon acceptance there will be a $150 deposit due. This is refundable as students raise his or her support for the trip.
  5. Timeliness in turning in your application may be a determining factor in selection.
